At 1,200 m/3.936 feet above sea level along the road from Borso del Grappa to the mountain’s summit, Baita Camol is a convenient stopover for mountain travelers passing through Campo Croce and is easily accessible by either foot or car. With its large fireplace, rustic furnishings and an impressive tree growing through one of the three dining rooms, Baita Camol is most famous for formaggio fuso, a second-course dish prepared with a variety of baked cheeses. Be sure to try one of their homemade berry liquors as a digestive after the meal. Since this locale is open only on weekends and is popular with the local folk, call ahead to reserve a table.
